Young Name Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for Field Hockey

PHILADELPHIA - Temple junior Charise Young has been named the Atlantic 10's Player of the Week for field hockey, the league office announced on Tuesday. In the Owls first two games of the season, Young has paced the Cherry and White with 10 points on five goals.
In a 5-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday, Young registered her first career hat trick. She then added two more goals as the Owls posted a 5-0 victory over Bryant on Sunday.
After the first two games of the season, Young leads the Owls in points (10), goals (5), shots (11), shots on goal (8) and is second in shooting percentage (.455). She also leads the Atlantic-10 in points, goals, goals per game, and points per game.
Excelling in the classroom as well as the playing field, Young was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team and Temple University "Trustee Ten" in 2007 and NFHCA National Academic Team in 2007 and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and NFHCA National Academic Team in 2006.
The Owls (2-0) return to action next week when they travel to Newark, Del., to face Boston University in the Delaware Tournament on Sept. 6 at 2:00pm
