PHILADELPHIA-Junior Yun Yi Zhang continued her stellar play, nearly missing a double-double to lead the Temple volleyball team (2-2) to a 3-0 win over the Fairfield Stags (2-4) in the final game of the 2008 Temple Invitational. Zhang posted 16 kills and nine digs and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Sophomore Jacqueline Cowden also had a stellar performance with 11 kills and seven blocks.

Temple dominated game one, taking an early 11-3 lead and never looking back en route to a 25-11 victory. Zhang posted a team-high five kills, while Cowden had four kills to pace the home team.
Game two started off much like game one, with total Temple domination, but the Stags weren't down for long. Fairfield scored four straight points to take a 10-8 lead. The Owls battled back to tie the game, four times before finally taking back the lead (16-15). The TU run continued, as the Cherry and White rolled to a 25-20 victory.
Temple took an early 4-1 lead in game three but Fairfield responded with a four point swing to make it 5-4. The Owls were not about to rest, however, as they put together a 10-3 run to take a 15-7 lead. The Stags struggled to keep pace but were unable to compete, as the Owls took their third straight set, 25-13.
