NEWARK, Del. - Senior goal keeper Erin Hanshue recorded nine saves, but it was not enough as the Temple field hockey team suffered its first defeat of the season as the Owls fell to Ohio State 3-0 in the final game of the Blue Hen Classic on Sunday afternoon.

One day after the Owls pulled off a 3-2 upset victory over #14 Boston University, the Cherry and White (3-1) failed to get anything going on offense Sunday aftenroon. The Buckeyes (4-0) stingy defense limited the Cherry and White to just three shots and one shot on goal for the entire game. Junior Kristen Wanner recorded the lone shot on goal for the Owls.

The Buckeyes got on the board for the first time in the five minute mark when Melissa Palm snuck one by Hanshue to make it 1-0. Ohio State struck again in the 43rd minute thanks to Aisling Colye's goal to make it 2-0 at the front end of the second half. The Buckeyes would strike once more in the final minute of play to bring the game to the final score of 3-0.

The Owls must regroup quickly as they travel across the state to take on #6 Penn State on Wednesday afternoon. Action is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. and can be followed via Gametracker.
