Kinneman, Young named to 2008 All-Philadelphia Field Hockey Team

PHILADELPHIA -Senior Mary Catherine Kinneman and junior Charise Young will each have another award to place on their growing mantles, as the duo were named to the 2008 All-Philadelphia Field Hockey Team, the schools announced on Friday.
The 14-member team honors the best among the six Division I field hockey schools in the Philadelphia area. Head coaches of the schools voted for the top 16 players from other city teams, ranking the top three players for the MVP award. The 14 selections for the 2008 All-Philadelphia Team were all unanimously chosen.
Kinneman, the reinging A-10 Defensive Player of the Year, started every game for the Owls and notched a career-high five assists, which is tied for sixth in the A-10 . She played on both attack and defensive corners as the corner hitter and right trail. In addition, the senior back from Lansdale, Pa., anchors a defensive unit that has blanked three opponents this season. She was also recently selected as a member of the Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region and particpated in the Division I Senior All-Star Game.
Young the reigning A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year, led the Owls in goals (eight) and points (23) for the season. Her .333 shot percentage also leads the team, while her seven assists are tied for second in the A-10. The Harleysville, Penn. native was selected as a member of the Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region.
