Men's Basketball Signs Two Recruits

PHILADELPHIA -- Aaron Brown, a 6-4 guard out of St. Benedict's Prep School in Newark, N.J., and Anthony Lee, a 6-9 forward/center from West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla., have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Temple University on men's basketball scholarships, announced Owls' head coach Fran Dunphy.
“We are pleased to be able to bring in two quality players to the Temple basketball program,” said Dunphy. “Aaron and Anthony are not just tremendous basketball players, but quality individuals from good families. They fit in nicely for our plans next season and beyond.”
Brown, a three-year starter at St. Benedict's, averaged 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game as a junior on a team that posted 23-2 and was the top-ranked independent school in New Jersey. He was named to the first team at the past month's iS8/Nike Tip-Off Fall Classic. A strong perimeter threat, he connected on 42 percent from three-point range in 2008-09.
Lee, ranked as the 38th-best center in the country by ESPN.com, averaged 14.8 points and 13.8 rebounds last year at Eustis High School before transferring to West Oaks for his senior season. Selected for the Next Level Florida Amateur Athletic Zone Magazine Top 24 game in fall 2009, Lee had received scholarship offers from several schools, including USC, Georgia and Seton Hall.
