Lavoy Allen Named Big 5 Player Of The Week

Junior forward leads Owls to a 2-1 week
PHILADELPHIA - Temple junior forward Lavoy Allen has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending November 29. Allen, who earns his first Big 5 honor of this season and third career Player of the Week award, averaged 14.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 58.8 percent from the field to lead the Owls to a 2-1 week.
The 6-9 forward tallied 16 points, nine rebounds and a career-high seven assists in the Temple's 66-46 win over Ball State on Nov. 24. As a part of Friday's Philly Hoop Group Classic Tournament, he made eight of nine shots in scoring a season-high 18 points in the Cherry and White's 61-50 win over Virginia Tech on Nov. 27. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished four assists in the win. Allen finished the week with a nine-point, four-rebound effort in a loss to St. John's in the finale of the Philly Hoop Group Classic held at The Palestra.
