Cross Country Teams Compete At Iona Meet Of Champions

Mims leads women, Penetar finishes best for men
New Rochelle, NY – The Temple men's and women's cross country team competed in the Iona Meet of Champions Saturday afternoon. Junior Rebecca Mims placed best on the hill-and-dale for the women, running a time of 25:07.16 (83rd), while junior Eddie Penetar placed 22nd for the men in a time of 26:05.72.
Following closely behind Penetar was classmate Mike May, finishing 26th in a time of 26:10.92. Sophomore Ben Thomas continues to clock in solid times for the Owls, running today's meet in a time of 27:26.14 (90th).
Other notable times were had by Adin Mickle (103rd, 27:41.22), David Walters (126th, 28:11.17), Dan Carreon (144th, 28:34.15), Clarke Hunt (147th, 28:42.01), and Roswell Friend (167th, 29:14.31).
On the women's side, Mims was followed by freshman Rayna Cratchman, who turned in a time of 25:18.45 (97th). Also clocking in solid finishes were Katherine Frank (133rd, 26:14.33), Karrie Finn (135th, 26:18.67), Jennifer Abercrumbie (162nd, 27:29.95), and Eva Sepulveda (169th, 28:03.72).
The Cherry and White cross country teams are back in action on October 2nd, when they head to Lehigh, Pa. for the Paul Short Invitational.
