Men's Crew Fares Well in Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's crew had an impressive start to their Fall season on Saturday at the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River. The Men's Varsity 4+ event saw both Owl entries finish in the top ten (4th and 8th place out of 25 crews) with the "A" boat a scant .24 out of third. The Owls Second Varsity 8 finished in 6th place (out of 15) while the Varsity 8 had a very impressive row finishing fourth.

"I was very pleased with our effort, especially considering the late start to fall practice this year as well as missing time on the water due to flooding," Temple head coach Gavin White. "The Second Varsity 8 showed some real grit in their race and the Varsity 8, despite a slight bobble coming through the Columbia Avenue bridge, was only 1.5 seconds out of third."

Temple is back on the river Sunday, October 10 to take part in the Race for the Cure.
