PHILADELPHIA – Bridget Settles and Caryn Lambright each registered first half goals to lift the Cherry and White to a 3-0 victory over West Chester Sunday afternoon at Geasey Field. The win improved the Owls to 2-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play and 7-9 on the year while West Chester fell to 1-2 in the A-10 and 5-9 overall.
The Temple offense pressured the Golden Rams throughout the first half as the Owls out-shot West Chester 7-2. Bridget Settles opened the scoring 13 minutes into the contest as she buried a goal off of a penalty corner for the 1-0 lead. Caryn Lambright scored eight minutes later off of a Kaylee Keener pass from the right side for the 2-0 advantage.
Caryn Lambright scored her second goal of the game and the lone second half tally for the Owls off of a Mandi Shearer pass from the right side of the net. Kaylee Keener finished the afternoon with two assists as the Temple offense pressured the Golden Rams throughout the entire contest. The Owls held West Chester to two shots in the second stanza.
Temple goalkeeper Sarah Dalrymple stopped all four shots to earn her fifth shutout of the season.
The Cherry and White continue Atlantic 10 Conference play Friday afternoon as they travel to Amherst to battle Massachusetts.
