Lavoy Allen Named A-10 Co-Player of the Week

Owls senior forward averaged a double-double in two wins
PHILADELPHIA - Temple senior forward Lavoy Allen has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending December 5. Allen, who garners his second career POW award from the league, shares the honor with Ogo Adegboye of St. Bonaventure.
A Naismith and Wooden Award candidate, Allen posted identical 13-point, 10-rebound games in road wins over Central Michigan (65-53, 12/1) and Maryland (12/5). They were his first double-doubles of the season and 29th of his career.
In the CMU victory, the Morrisville, PA native (Pennsbury High), made six of his eight field goal attempts while setting a new career-high with five blocked shots. In the Owls win over Maryland, he made six of 10 attempts from the field.
Allen, a preseason first team all-Atlantic 10 selection, is averaging 10.6 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game.
The Owls (5-2) next host #9/10 Georgetown (8-0) this Thursday night (9:00 p.m./ESPN).
