Temple Forward Anthony Lee to Undergo Back Surgery

Freshman basketball player will be sidelined extended amount of time

PHILADELPHIA  – Temple freshman forward Anthony Lee will undergo surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back and will be sidelined an extended amount of time.  Lee will have his surgery performed by Dr. Michael Weaver at Temple University Hospital next Friday, December 17.

Lee, a native of Columbia, Md., had yet to see action this season for the Owls.  As a senior at West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla., he averaged 23.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game and was named the MVP of the Sunshine Independent Athletic Association.  He earned 2010 National Athletic Christian Association All-America honors and named to the 2010 National Athletic Christian Association tournament best defensive player.
