PHILADELPHIA – It is Hooter The Owl's birthday this Saturday and what better way to celebrate than to join Temple University's beloved mascot with all of his friends at the men's and women's basketball doubleheader at the Liacouras Center. The Temple women's team tips off the day with a 1:00 p.m. game against conference foe Charlotte while the #21/21 Temple men host Rhode Island in a critical Atlantic 10 Conference showdown at 4:00 p.m. (Comcast SportsNet).

“This has become our top family day of the athletic season,” Assistant Athletic Director Scott Walcoff said. “Kids really enjoy watching the area mascots perform, and with giveaways and an 'All-You-Can-Eat' deal, it has never been better.”

Among the promotions surrounding the events are:

  • The first 2,000 kids ages 14 and younger will receive a mini basketball sponsored by the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union;
  • Area mascots will take part in halftime activities at the Temple men's basketball game and meet and greet fans in concourse area before the game;
  • Fans can take part in a special picture-taking and autograph session with the Men's team after the game

The Temple Athletic Department has also partnered with the Liacouras Center on an All-You-Can-Eat Ticket Package for this game! For only $25 per person, you'll receive a game ticket and all-you-can-eat hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, soda and bottled water.
