Ramone Moore Named Big 5 Player Of The Week

Scored consecutive career highs in leading Owls to two wins

PHILADELPHIA – Temple sophomore guard Ramone Moore has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 21. Moore, who led the #20/21 Owls to a 2-0 week, earns his first Big 5 honor of his career. He is the fourth Owl to earn Big 5 Player of the Week this season, joining teammates Lavoy Allen (three times), Ryan Brooks and Juan Fernandez.

Moore averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game while shooting 55.1 percent from the field. He scored a game and career high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Temple to a 73-55 win at St. Bonaventure on Feb. 17. He followed that with another career scoring high, tallying 24 points, including the game-tying basket with 1.5 seconds to play, in a 75-67 overtime win over Saint Joseph's at The Palestra on Feb. 20. He made 11 of 18 shots and also grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in the victory.

The Philadelphia native (Southern High) has now scored in double figures in six straight games, averaging 16.7 points per game. On the season, he is fourth on the team in scoring with a 7.7 average.

The Owls, 22-5, 10-2 in A-10, return to the Liacouras Center floor for a Wednesday Night game against Dayton (6:30 p.m./Comcast SportsNet). Temple will be collecting old cell phones at the game in support of Verizon Wireless' HopeLine program.
