Buffaloe tops in hammer throw, Louis in high jump
BETHELHEM, Pa. – Seniors led the way for the Temple men's track & field team at the Greyhound Invitational, as Bryce Buffaloe earned top honors in the hammer throw and Josue Louis won the high jump Saturday afternoon.
Buffaloe placed first in the hammer with an IC4A qualifying toss of 58.28m. Finishing on his heels was junior Bob Keogh, who tossed 57.98m for IC4A marks.
Louis cleared 2.02m in the high jump, also finishing sixth in the 110m hurdles in a time of 15.26.
In the long jump, senior Tim Boeni placed third with an IC4A qualifying leap of 7.35m. Boeni also ran a time of 22.47 in the 200m dash, good enough for third place.
On the track, the men's 4x100m relay combined for a third place finish, clocking in at 41.48.
In the 1500m run, sophomore Geoff Barletta paced the Owls with a sixth place finish in a time of 4:07.64. The 3000m steeplechase was led by junior Eric Conklin, finishing fifth in a time of 10:25.78.
Sophomore Emmanuel Freeland was the top collegiate finisher in the 100m dash, running a time of 10.93.
In the 400m hurdles, sophomore Jason Howitt clocked in a time of 56.53 to place fifth.
Next up for the Owls is the prestigious Penn Relays, held April 22-24 at the University of Pennsylvania.
