Princeton, N.J. – Senior Jovana Radojevic had a career night with 15 kills and a match-high hitting percentage of .483, but it wasn't enough as the Temple volleyball team lost 3-1 on the road to Princeton. The Tigers (5-6) defeated the Owls (2-11) by scores of 25-19, 16-25, 25-22 and 25-19.
TU has suffered seven straight losses, but can wipe the slate clean this weekend with the start of Atlantic 10 matches. The Owls will begin conference play on the road at Rhode Island and Fordham.
Ashley Carr had a strong night for the Owls with a double-double of 11 kills and 11 digs, while Ariel Pierre led the team with 14 digs. Cayleigh Ashman and Jess Antosz each tallied seven kills and five blocks for Temple.
TU recorded just 10 kills as a team on its way to dropping the first set, but the Owls came back strong with 18 kills in the second set compared to 10 for Princeton.
After getting down midway through the third set, the Owls picked up some momentum and tied the Tigers at 22-22, but two kills from Princeton's Jennifer Palmquist helped the Tigers take the last three points of the set.
Errors were costly for TU in the fourth set, and the Owls were unable to make a comeback after falling behind midway through the set.
Temple will begin Atlantic 10 play this weekend on the road. First up for the Owls is a 7:00 p.m. contest at Rhode Island on Friday, Sept. 24.
