Owls rejoin polls and reach highest ranking of the season
PHILADELPHIA – The three-time defending Atlantic 10 Conference champion Temple Owls have returned to college basketball's Top 25 with the release of this week's polls. Temple reached its highest rank of the season, coming in at #19 in the Associated Press. The ESPN/USA Today poll has Temple ranked at #23.
Temple had a streak of 16 straight weeks in the polls end following two losses in the Old Spice Classic held in Orlando, Fla. Thanksgiving weekend. The Owls rejoined the Associated Press poll at #25 on December 27, but dropped out after their narrow loss (78-74) at #7/7 Villanova on Dec. 30
The Owls (11-3, 2-0 in Atlantic 10) host St. Bonaventure on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the second part of a women's/men's doubleheader. The Temple women host Rhode Island at 5:00 p.m.
