Scootie Randall Named A10/Big 5 Player of the Week

Junior forward garners first weekly honors
PHILADELPHIA – Temple junior forward Scootie Randall has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 6. It is the first weekly honor of his career.
The Philadelphia native (Communications Tech) averaged 20.5 points per game in leading the Owls to a 2-0 week. He scored 14 points on five-of-10 shooting from the field (2-3 3pt) in TU's 71-67 win at La Salle on February 2. He followed that with a 27-point, seven-rebound outing in an 80-67 win over Rhode Island Saturday. In that game, he made his first eight shots, including five three-pointers, en route to 10 of 13 (6-9 3-pointers) shooting day. His six three-pointers are a new career high.
Randall, who has averaged 19.6 points over the last five games, is now second on the team in scoring with an 11.4 average. In A-10 play, Randall leads the Owls in five major statistical categories: minutes played (34.6 mpg.), points per game (15.7 ppg.), field goal percentage (.548), three-pointers (25) and three-point percentage (.472).
The Owls (17-5, 7-2 in Atlantic 10) put their 18-game home win streak on the line when they next host Fordham on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. before travelling to Dayton Saturday (1:00 p.m./ESPNU/1210 AM WPHT).
