Relay squads all score valuable points for the Owls

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The 4x100m squad highlighted several impressive finishes for the Owls' relays as the Temple men's track & field team placed second at the Colonial Relays, hosted Saturday afternoon at William & Mary. The 4x1 cruised to a first place finish in an IC4A qualifying time of 41.47.
Temple, with 74.20 team points, placed second to Bucknell (129.90), and beat out rival Villanova (60) who placed third. Virginia Tech took fourth with 55 points, followed by Rutgers in fifth (53.20).
Seniors Emmanual Freeland and Miles Dryden, along with freshman Alex McGee and sophomore Dylan Pensyl guided the 4x1 to victory and an IC4A mark. Dryden, McGee and Pensyl added senior Derrhyl Duncan to their squad for the 4x200m relay, running a time of 1:27.97 to place third.
The Temple men's 4x800m relay, made up of seniors Aaron Taylor, Lou Parisi and Eddie Penetar, and junior Travis Mahoney, cruised to a sixth place finish in a time of 7:44.63. The 4x400m relay, comprised of McGee, junior Alan Harding, and Dryden and Duncan, also fared well, placing fifth in an IC4A qualifying time of 3:15.92.
Freeland also cruised to a phenomenal finish in the 100m, placing second with a near-IC4A mark of 10.97. In the field, Dryden took home fifth in the long jump with a mark of 22-01.75.
The Owls will be in competition next as they travel to the Greyhound Invitational on April 15-16.
