Montrose Places 11th in Junior Epee at North American Cup

PORTLAND, Ore. - Temple Fencing wrapped up competition at the USFA North American Cup out on the West Coast on Monday afternoon with the junior women's epee bouts. Sophomore Chantal Montrose placed 11th out of 109 competitors, while second-year fencer Kimberly Howell placed 64th.
Montrose concluded the weekend as Temple's top-finisher on the weekend, going 5-0 in pool play, earning her a bye in the round of 128. The native of Alexandria, Va. won her bouts in the rounds of 64 and 32, before losing to eventual finalist Audrey Abend in the round of 16.
Howell finished 1-5 in pool play and won her first Direct Elimination bout.
