NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Temple's Amber Youtz and Massachusetts' Thando Zono were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Co-Players of the Week, while Richmond's Taylor Deitrick earned Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Monday for games played Oct. 8-14.

Youtz, a sophomore forward, earned Co-Player of the Week accolades after posting eight points this past week against A-10 opponents La Salle (Oct. 12) and Lock Haven (Oct. 14). The Dauphin, Pa., native scored the game-winning goal in both matches, while also scoring an additional goal against Lock Haven and tallying one assist in each game. The Owls defeated La Salle, 2-1, and Lock Haven, 4-3 in overtime. In the match against Lock Haven, Youtz suffered a broken nose and sat out 11 minutes of the second half. She later returned to the game, and one minute and 39 seconds into overtime she scored the game-winning goal for the Owls.

Youtz now has 18 goals on the season which ranks 10th all-time in a single season at Temple, and her 45 points rank eighth all-time in program history for a single season. She currently ranks sixth among all players in NCAA Division I in points per game (2.81) and seventh in goals per game (1.13).

Zono, a senior defender, earned Co-Player of the Week honors after scoring one of the most important goals in UMass field hockey history against No. 1 Syracuse (Oct 11). The Grahamstown, South Africa, native notched her first game-winning goal of the season to upset the Orange, 2-1. Zono also scored one goal in the Minutewomen's 6-2 victory over Saint Louis (Oct. 12). Massachusetts also defeated A-10 opponent VCU, 3-0 (Oct. 14).

Deitrick earned her second Rookie of the Week accolade of the season after scoring four points against A-10 opponents VCU (Oct. 12) and Saint Louis (Oct. 14). The Harrisburg, Pa., native scored the game-tying goal in Richmond's, 3-1, win over VCU and added her ninth goal of the season in the Spiders', 6-0, win over Saint Louis. Deitrick ranks third in the A-10 in goals scored on the season, and is tied for the team lead with fellow Spider Rebecca Barry.
