Men's Basketball Ranked #23/25 In Latest National Polls

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's basketball team remained in the national polls this week despite seeing its 11-game win streak come to an end Saturday at Saint Joseph's.  The Owls, 22-6 and atop the Atlantic 10 standings with an 11-3 league mark are ranked #23 by by the Associated Press and the #25 by ESPN/USA Today.
 
It is the second straight week that Temple has been nationally ranked and the 23rd week over the last three seasons that the Owls have appeared in the Top 25 polls.  It is also the third time in program history that the Owls have been in the Top 25 in three consecutive seasons.  The other two streaks were five seasons each (1986-87 thru 1990-81; 1997-98 thru 2000-01). 
 
Temple next hosts UMass Wednesday night (7:00 p.m,./OwlAccess/1210 AM WPHT) in its final home game of the season.  It is Senior Night at the Liacouras Center and four players, Micheal Eric, Juan Fernandez, Jake Godino and Ramone Moore and five managers, Chris Angelos, Matt Lachs, Ryan Nemetz, Katelyn Simoncic and Gerard Walsh, will be honored prior to the game.
