OLEAN, N.Y. - Karly Cohen and Kellee Pace each notched hat tricks in leading Temple lacrosse to a dominating, 16-4 win in the Atlantic 10 opener at St. Bonaventure (2-3, 0-1) on Friday afternoon. The Owls (7-3, 1-0) will return home Sunday to face Duquesne at 1:00 p.m.
Cohen also assisted on two other scores for Temple, as did Charlotte Swavola. In total, eight players scored for the Owls including Jaymie Tabor, Stephany Parcell, Jackie Mercer, and Keelin Hood with two goals apiece.
The Owls recorded 34 shots to St. Bonaventure's 13, making goalkeeper Tess Bishop's five saves all the more impressive.
Temple took a 3-0 lead to start the game before the Bonnies came within 3-2, but by halftime the Owls had jumped out to a 10-3 lead. They added four more to start the second half, and St. Bonaventure was able to put up just one tally in the entire half. Swavola added one goal to her two assists, and Lea Britton also scored for Temple.
