ATLANTA, GA – Temple University Athletics' behind-the-scenes television series Temple Basketball: Above the Rim won the College Sports Media Award for “Best Program – Series” in College Athletics on June 6. The Sports Video Group and the National Association of the Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) presented the awards as part of the College Sports Video Summit in Atlanta, GA.
Both Above the Rim and Temple TUFF: Behind the Scenes with Temple Football garnered nominations for Best Program – Series (as did productions from Duke University, Purdue University, Penn State University and the University of Notre Dame). Above the Rim was selected as the winner by a panel of media professionals from all across the country.
The all-access series that airs on Comcast SportsNet is produced by 20/20 Visual Media, a Philadelphia based production company founded by two Temple alumni.
“We are honored to have won such a prestigious award against some of the nation's elite collegiate productions”, said Patrick Rosenbaum, co-producer of the programs. “We cannot thank Temple Athletics enough for their support and the opportunity to share the great things the Athletic Department is doing every day”.
In addition to the victory and two nominations, 20/20 Visual Media received two Honorable Mentions for a segment on Temple basketball's charity work and a “hype” video that preceded the men's team's postseason.
