THIS WEEK
Temple continues its two-game road trip to open the season with a stop in Newark on Tuesday, Nov. 12 for a 7 p.m. game with Delaware at the Bob Carpenter Center.
The Owls' home opener is slated for Saturday, Nov. 16 with Auburn at 6 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls, under sixth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza, stand 1-0 on the season after a 60-47 win at La Salle on Nov. 8. Temple returns seven letterwinners, including three starters, to the line-up.
Senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) is the Owls' leading scorer with 18.0 points and 5.0 steals per game. Senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) averages 12.0 ppg and 13.0 rpg, while junior Tyonna Williams (Fort Washington, Md.) adds 11.0 points and 5.0 assists per game. Sophomore Erica Covile (Canton, Mich.) rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.0 ppg and 3.0 apg.Â
SCOUTING DELAWARE
The Blue Hens, under the guidance of 18th-year head coach Tina Martin, stand 1-0 after a 64-43 win at Rhode Island on Nov. 8. In that game, sophomore Courtni Green had career highs of 15 points and 13 rebounds for her first career double-double. Senior Kelsey Buchanan tallied a career-best 15 points, while freshman Shanice Johnson and redshirt sophomore Joy Caracciolo each posted 11 points in their UD debut.
Delaware returns six letterwinners, including just one starter, from last season.
The teams last met in 1997 in McGonigle Hall where Temple pulled off a 72-54 win. Delaware, however, holds a one-game series advantage, 10-8, since the teams' first meeting in 1974.Â

The Tigers, under the guidance of second-year head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy, stand 1-0 on the season after a 69-59 win over Georgia Southern on Nov. 9.
Three Tigers scored in double figures. Senior G/F Tyrese Tanner led the team with 17 points, while senior center Peyton Davis netted a double-double of 15 points and 11 boards. Auburn out-rebounded Georgia Southern, 45-43.
Auburn hosts Jacksonville State on Nov. 13 prior to visiting Temple.
In series action, Auburn leads, 4-3. In the teams' meeting last fall in Alabama,  Auburn claimed a 71-49 win at Auburn Arena. Senior Victoria Macaulay led the Owls with 18 points, while Tyonna Williams added 12 points. The Tigers, which shot 53 percent from the field, held TU?to just 17 first-half points on 23 percent shooting.Â
LAST GAME:Â TEMPLE 60, LA SALLE 47
Temple opened the 2013-14 season with a 60-47 win at La Salle on Nov. 8.
In her debut as an Owl, senior Shi-Heria Shipp led the team with a career-high 18 points. Senior Natasha Thames followed with a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, the sixth of her career. Junior Tyonna Williams added 11 points, and sophomore Erica Covile had 10 points.
Overall, La Salle out-rebounded Temple, 43-37. The Owls shot 40 percent from the floor (21-52) compared to the Explorers' 28 percent (17-61).
