Dalton Pepper Named Philadelphia Big 5 Co-Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple senior guard Dalton Pepper has been named Philadelphia Big 5 co-Player of the Week for the week ending December 22.  Pepper, who earns the honor for the third time this season, shares the award with Halil Kanacevic of Saint Joseph's.

Pepper averaged 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists a in 1-1 week.  The Norristown, Pa. native had a near triple-double with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in 90-89 loss to Texas Southern on Dec. 18. He followed that by recording his first career double-double with career highs of 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 101-65 win over LIU Brooklyn on Dec. 21.  He shot 10-of-12 from field in that game, and 6-of-8 from three-point range.

For the week Pepper was 16-of-24 (66.7%) from field and 8-14 (57.1%) from three.

On the season the Owls' lone senior ranks second on the team and fourth in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (17.2 ppg.) while leading the squad and ranking seventh in the league in three-point percentage (26-58, .448).

Temple (5-5) is in the midst of an 11-day holiday break and next plays at Rutgers on Jan. 1 8:00 p.m./ESPNU/1210 AM WPHT) in its American Athletic Conference opener.
