Temple Professionals To Provide Free Blood Pressuse Screenings at Temple-La Salle Game
2.21.13 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA – In light of the recent five-game streak of one-point games, Temple physicians are teaming with Temple Athletics to provide free Blood Pressure screenings of fans at tonight's men's basketball game against La Salle (7:00 p.m./CBS Sports Network/1210 AM WPHT).
Temple Health professionals will be on hand at the Liacouras Center, positioned in front of section 107, to provide the free screenings. Fans wishing to take advantage of this service will have to fill out a consent form prior to screening.
The Temple men's basketball team has played a school – and perhaps a national – record of five straight one-point games. All five nail-biters have taken place in the month of February with the Owls winning three.
Prior to this season, TU had played five one-point games in a season only once - that came in 1895-96 - with the Owls winning three. Temple coach Fran Dunphy had coached in just five one-point games at Temple prior to the current streak. He owns a 6-4 record in one-pointers with the Owls.
Temple has played six one-point games against La Salle (and 7 OT games). The last game against the Explorers the Owls won 80-79 in OT. (2/22/12).
The Owls (17-8, 6-5 A10, 2-1 Big 5) will clinch a share of their record 27th Big 5 title with a win over the Explorers (18-6, 8-3, 3-0).
