PHILADELPHIA  –
Temple University senior  Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson has been nominated for this week's Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week, which recognizes the best in college sports. By Hollis-Jefferson being nominated for this award, it puts Temple in a position to earn points in the race for the Capital One Cup. The outcome of this award is determined by a FAN VOTE, which runs from today through Wednesday at 12 PM EST.

Hollis-Jefferson was nominated for the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week primarily based on his effort last Thursday against La Salle, where he set new career highs in points (23) and rebounds (18) in leading Temple to an 82-74 win over the Explorers, helping the Owls share the Big 5 title with La Salle on February 21. The 6-6 forward, who was named the Philadelphia Big Player of the Week on Monday, shot 9-of-14 from the field and dished a game-high five assists in the game.  His 18 rebounds were the most by an Owl this season and tied the Liacouras Center mark.

At Charlotte on February 24 he scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, dished three assists, tied his career high with three blocks and made a game-high three steals in a 71-51 win.

For the week, he averaged 15.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 4.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. He shot 12-of-21 from the field (57.1%) and 7-10 from line (70%).

Temple (19-8, 8-5 A10) hosts Detroit (18-10, 10-4 Horizon) Thursday at the Liacouras Center (7:00 pm/ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT).
