Temple Softball Makes Final Florida Trip For City of Clearwater Spring Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple softball team closes out its swing of four consecutive southern weekends with play in the City of Clearwater Spring Invitational on Friday-Sunday, March 15-17. The event is hosted by USF at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
The Owls open play with an 11 a.m. game against Boston College on Friday, before taking on Valparaiso at 1:15 the same day. On Saturday, the squad faces Maryland (11 a.m.) and Liberty (1:15 p.m.), before closing out play against Iowa State on Sunday morning (9:30 a.m.). Live stats will be available for both the Liberty and Iowa State.
The Cherry & White are 5-9 after a 3-2 weekend at the USF Under Armour Showcase last weekend.
Leading the way offensively for TU is freshman Annie Marcopolus. The outfielder is hitting .407 on the year with one homerun. Also having solid starts to the season are juniors Sarah Prezioso (.372, 3 2B, 3 HR, 17 RBI) and Stephanie Pasquale (.356, 6 2B, 2 HR, 17 RBI). Both players are ranked 31st nationally in runs batted in per game at.
Freshman Kelsey Dominik leads the team on the mound with a 2-0 record and 3.15 ERA through 20.0 innings pitched. The rookie right hander has recorded the teams only shutout.
