Khalif Wyatt Earns Fourth Big 5 Player of Week Honor

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University senior guard Khalif Wyatt has been named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, for the week ending March 3. The Norristown, Pa. native (Norristown HS) earns the honor for the fourth time this season.
Wyatt, the Atlantic 10 Conference's leading scorer (19.6 ppg.), averaged 22 points and 5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Owls and came up clutch down the stretch in both wins. Against Detroit (2/28), he had a game-high seven assists and scored all 20 of his points in the second half, including 12 in the final two minutes as the Owls won 83-78. Then, with the game knotted at 64 apiece against Rhode Island (3/2), Wyatt scored seven of the Owls' final 12 points en route to a 76-70 triumph. He finished with a team-high 24 points
For the year, Wyatt has been Temple's high scorer 17 times, including 12 of the last 15 game. He has been red-hot of late, averaging 23.3 points over last 15 outings. He also just passed Bruce Drysdale (1,444 pts, '59-62) to move into 23rd place on the Owls' all-time scoring list with 1,446 points.
Temple (21-8, 9-5 A10) travels to Fordham (6-23, 2-12 A10) Wednesday (7:00 pm/OwlAccess/1210 AMWPHT).
