Men's 4x400 Meter Relay Takes First Place At Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – Temple's men's track and field squad got competition underway in the second day of collegiate meets at the 119th Penn Relays. The Owls' 4x400 meter relay team left an impression in front of schools from across the nation, as they came in first place of the event on Friday. Allan Harding, Carlton Stafford, Damian Myers and Lionel Wilson combined for a time of 3:13.27 to win the title.
In another collective effort, Temple placed 18th in the distance medley relay, as Cullen Davis, William Montgomery, Will Kellar and Matt Kacyon finished the race in 10:08.68.
Junior Darryl McDuffie got the day started for the Owls with a mark of 1.96 meters in the high jump to take 13th place.
Temple will close out representation in the nation's longest running annual meet on Saturday. The Owls will send Gabe Pickett and Derek Holland to the high jump and Justin Berg to the hammer throw. The team's 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay teams will also take the track on the final day of the Penn Relays.
