2012-13 Men's Basketball Media Guide Earns "Best Cover" Award in CoSIDA Publications Contest

PHILADELPHIA - The 2012-13 Men's Basketball Media Guide has earned the "Best Cover" award in the annual College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Publications Contest. The cover, depicting cartoon superhero versions of seniors T.J. DiLeo, Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, Scootie Randall, and Khalif Wyatt, was designed by Mario Zucca.

Zucca is an adjunct instructor at Temple's Tyler School of Art. Finishing work on the cover was done by Assistant AD/Creative Services Kelli Sheesley, who submitted the guide along with Senior Associate AD/Communications Larry Dougherty. Credit also goes to Temple men's basketball coach Dwayne Killings for coming up with the concept to honor the senior members of the team making their "Last Stand" as Owls.

One of this past season's episodes of Above the Rim, produced by 20/20 Visual Media, included a segment on Zucca and his process of designing the media guide cover. That episode can be viewed online HERE.
