Wyatt, Eric To Play for Sixers Summer Team

7.3.13 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Former Temple University men's basketball players Khalif Wyatt and Micheal Eric will play for the Philadelphia 76ers in the Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League (OPSL), which takes place on the Orlando Magic's practice court at the Amway Center from July 7-12.

The duo will be looking to join their former teammate Lavoy Allen on the NBA squad. Allen, a 2011 second round draft pick, has played the last two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers.

In addition to the host Orlando Magic, the 25-game, six-day event will also feature the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz.

Wyatt, the 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year, led both leagues in scoring (20.5 ppg.). His seven 30-point games tied Lynn Greer's Temple single-season record set during the 2001-02 season and his 204 free throws made broke the legendary Hal Lear's single season record of 189 set during the 1955-56 campaign.

The Norristown, Pa. native became the 12th Temple player to score 600 points in a season, and his 697 points ranks eighth on the Owls all-time single-season list. He tallied 1,576 career points, to rank 13th on the program's all-time list.

Eric, who starred at Temple from 2008-09 thru 2011-12, averaged 8.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks last season with the Canton Charge of the NBA D-League. In his last season as an Owl, the 6-11 forward/center averaged 9.0 points while leading TU with 8.8 rebounds per game.
