PARIS - The Temple men's basketball team looked a little "jet-lagged" in its opener to its first-ever Europe tour, falling to French Pro B team, Evreux, 82-52, at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin Friday afternoon.
The Owls led only once, 18-17, on a three by Quenton DeCosey with 1:08 remaining in the opening quarter. Evreux, which placed second last year in its league, ran off the next five points to close out the quarter, 22-18. They then outscored the visitors, 17-4, in the second quarter to break the game open.
Temple, which played all 10 of its players freely throughout the contest, was led by Anthony Lee's 12 points. DeCosey added 11 points while Josh Brown, making his Cherry and White debut, contributed 10.
The Owls shot 31 percent from the field (19-62)m and 20 percent from three-point range (3-15).
Next up for Temple is Boulogne, also from the Pro B division, Saturday at 11:30 am EST. The game will be audiostreamed on OwlsTv.
