PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off a whirlwind tour of Europe, the Temple men's basketball started their first week of class for the fall semester with a "spin".
The Owls did not have to travel far for their spin, just downtown to Body Cycle Studios located at 19th & Chestnut Streets, for a 45-minute high-intensity spin class.
"We are so grateful to have former Temple football player and alum Russell Carter (1982-84), the owner of Body Cycle Studios, lead us today in a spin class that not only pushed our bodies but our minds," said Owls assistant coach Dwayne Killings. "It was tremendous to see the guys get excited about something new, and push one another. We will be sure to be back as we prepare for the 13-14 season."
Spin as an organized activity, is a form of exercise with classes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery, that involve using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting
The coaching staff wants to try new preseason training methods as a varied approach to conditioning in preparation for the 13-14 season.
