PISCATAWAY, N.J. - An impressive five first-place performances highlighted the Rutgers Invitational for the Temple women's indoor track and field team over the two-day meet, Jan. 10-11. It was the first meet in over a month for the team, and head coach Eric Mobley was pleased with the way his team came out strong.

"I thought it was a really good meet for us coming off the break," said Mobley. "It looks like people took the break to do what they were supposed to do. It was really good to go in there and come out with a lot of first-place performances on the women's side."

Sophomore Jamila Janneh took first place in the triple jump with a personal-best and ECAC qualifying mark of 12.00m.

Junior Margo Britton earned first place in both the weight throw (15.02m) and the shot put (14.06m).

Temple had two top-three finishes by freshmen in the long jump, with Jimmia McCluskey earning first place with her mark of 5.55m, and Bionca St. Fleur taking third place with a jump of 5.21m.

After the throwers and jumpers competed on Friday, Jan. 10, it was the runners' turn on Saturday.

Senior Ambrosia Iwugo earned another title for the Owls in the 500m with her ECAC-qualifying time of 1:15.9. Freshman Kenya Gaston and junior Hollis Coleman also had strong performances in the 500m with times of 1:17.22 (fourth place) and 1:17.41 (fifth place), respectively.
