PHILADELPHIA
- The 120th Penn Relays will see members of Temple's men's and women's track & field teams competing all three days, from April 24-26 at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Junior Margo Britton will compete in the very first event on Thursday, the college women's discus at 9:00 a.m.

The Penn Relays are the longest running uninterrupted collegiate track meet in the country. This year is the 120th straight year of track and field events, featuring over 15,000 top middle school, high school, college and Olympic-level athletes.

Britton will compete in two individual events, as she will participate in the shot put on Thursday as well. In 2012, Britton set Temple's school record in the shot put at the Penn Relays, taking second place with a throw of 15.71 meters. She again finished second in the shot put as a sophomore last year.

Sophomore Jamila Janneh will also compete in two individual events, the high jump and triple jump. On the men's side, senior Gabe Pickett will compete in both the long jump and triple jump. Pickett will be looking to defend his triple jump title at the Penn Relays from a year ago.

Junior Kiersten LaRoche won the long jump at the Penn Relays last season with a career-best mark of 5.96 meters, and will be competing in that event once again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday along with freshmen Jimmia McCluskey and Bionca St. Fleur.

On the women's side, Temple will have teams in both the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. For the men, the Owls will race in the 4x100 meter and the 4x200 meter. The women's 4x100 team of Demeshia Davis, McCluskey, Courtney Mitchell and St. Fleur ran an ECAC-qualifying and season-best time of 46.70 at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational on April 12. The 4x400 team also includes Davis, along with Hollis Coleman, Kenya Gaston and Michelle Davis Timothy. That foursome also ran a season-best time at Miami, an ECAC-qualifying mark of 3:47.57.

The men's 4x100 team is most likely to include Jamal Williams, Alimamy Kallay, Elijah Hargrove and Adam Hasan, while the 4x200 team is not yet set. The 4x100 team ran a season-best and IC4A-qualifying time of 42.40 in winning the event at this past weekend's Owls Alumni Invitational.

In the relay events, teams will advance to various levels of championship races to be held on Saturday. Check back to owlsports.com to find out the schedule for any Temple relay teams that advance through the relay heats.
