Women's Basketball Travels to Cincinnati for Saturday Game

THIS WEEK
Temple takes to the road on Saturday, Jan. 18 with a stop at Cincinnati. Tip-off at Fifth Third Arena is set for 2 p.m.
The American Digital Network will televise the game live online with Tommy Gelehrter calling the action and Sylvia Crawley Milbry providing color analysis.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls, under sixth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza, stand 9-7 overall and 3-3 in American Athletic Conference play after an 80-66 win over SMU on Jan. 14.
After 16 games, freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) is the Owls' leading scorer with 13.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) follows with 12.4 ppg and a team-best 7.9 rpg. Senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) adds 10.1 ppg and 6.8 rpg. Sophomore Erica Covile (Detroit, Mich.) averages 9.9 ppg and 6.1 rpg.  Junior Tyonna Williams (Fort Washington, Md.) also adds 9.5 points and a Conference-best .923 shooting from the free throw line. Â

The Bearcats, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Jamelle Elliott, stand 8-8 overall and 1-4 in American play after a 59-50 win at Houston on Jan. 11. Cincinnati is idle until hosting the Owls. Â
Senior forward Jeanise Randolph is the Bearcats' top scorer with 12.5 ppg and 8.6 rpg. Senior guard Dayeesha Hollins follows with 13.1 ppg and 3.1 rpg.
SERIES VS. BEARCATS
This is the first meeting between Temple and Cincinnati in women's basketball action. It will also mark the first time that best friends and former UConn colleagues Tonya Cardoza and Jamelle Elliott will face each other as head coaches.
UP NEXT
Temple returns home for a three-game stretch over six days. The Owls host Penn in their final non-conference and Big 5 game on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. in McGonigle Hall.
