Men's Crew Races at Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's crew team continued its fall season with five boats competing at the 2014 Navy Day Regatta on Saturday. The event was hosted on the Schuylkill River with over 650 entries from 90 different programs.
The Owls recorded a pair of top-ten finishes at the event, led by the freshman four boat that finished fourth overall in a field of 14. Temple clocked in at 15:07.0 in the race.
The collegiate four boat also had a strong showing, as the Owls ranked eighth overall. The boat finished the 24-competitor race in a time of 15:08.5.
Temple had a pair of entries in the collegiate 8+ race, with Owl boats finishing 11th and 18th in the 26-team field. The A boat recorded a time of 13:07.2, while the B boat finished in 13:33.4.
Wrapping up the competition for the Owls, Temple's freshman eight boat finished 18th in a deep field, clocking in a 14:48.7 in the 28-boat race.
The Owls are back on the water next Saturday at the Philadelphia Childrens Foundation Regatta, hosted again on the Schuylkill River.
