Cummings, McDonnell Named Men's Basketball Team Captains

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's basketball coach Fran Dunphy has named his captains for the 2014-15 season and it comes with no surprise that graduate student Jimmy McDonnell and senior Will Cummings will assume the role.
"The experience and leadership that both guys lend to the program is why they have been named team captains," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. Â "They are both quality individuals who lead by example, on and off the court."
Cummings, a preseason second team all-conference selection, is in his second season as a team captain while McDonnell, named the 2014 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year, is making his debut in the role.
Temple opens the 2014-15 season at the Liacouras Center Friday (7:30 p.m./ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT) against American as part of the Northwestern Mutual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
