Men's Basketball To Compete in Puerto Rico Tip-Off

PHILADELPHIA - For the third time in the last eight seasons the Temple men's basketball team will be heading to Puerto Rico. Â
The Owls have accepted an invitation to compete in the 2015 Puerto Rico Tip-Off, it was announced today by ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN.
Temple will be part of a field that includes Butler, Miami (Fla.), Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri State, Texas Tech and Utah. Â The three-game, four-day tournament will be held November 19, 20 & 22.
The Owls have a 3-3 record in the previous two Puerto Rico Tip-Offs, posting a 1-2 mark in the 2007 event and a 2-1 record in 2011. Â
Temple (2-0) is in the midst of an in-season tournament this week and travels to the Barclays Center for the Championship Rounds of the 2014 Northwestern Mutual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. Â The Owls play #4/3 Duke Friday (9:30 p.m./truTV/1210 AM WPHT) and either Stanford or UNLV on Saturday (7:00 p.m./9:30 p.m.).
