Quenton DeCosey Named Big 5 Player of the Week

12.8.14 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Junior guard Quenton DeCosey has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending December 7.  It is the first weekly honor of his collegiate career.

The Union, N.J. native led Owls in scoring in two Big 5 games this week, averaging 20.5 points while shooting 58% from field (11-19), 75% from 3pt range (6-8) and 87% from line (13-15).  Against Saint Joseph's in a 58-56 road loss, he scored a game-high 22 points, connecting on seven-oof-11 shots from the field while grabbing five rebounds and dishing a team-best four assists.

DeCosey followed that with a game-high 19 points on four-of-eight shooting from the floor and a perfect three-of-three from behind the 3-point line in a 58-57 win over La Salle at The Palestra.

The preseason second team all-conference selection currently leads the Owls in scoring with a 14.1 average.

Temple (5-3) next hosts Towson (7-2) Wednesday night (8:00 p.m./ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT).
