NEW YORK - Three individual top-10 finishes highlighted the final day of the American Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships for Temple, including a school-record performance by senior Anna Pavone in the mile.
Overall, the Owls had seven individual top-10 finishes at the championships.
Pavone's ECAC qualifying time of 4:58.18 in the mile earned her sixth place, and bettered her own school record from a year ago by more than a second and a half. Teammate and junior Jenna Dubrow placed 10th in the event.
The top finish of the meet for the Owls came in the shot put, as junior Margo Britton placed fourth and earned five team points with her throw of 15.48m (50-09.50).
Sophomore Jamila Janneh matched her personal-best in the triple jump, placing ninth with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 12.07m.
In addition to competing in the mile run, Pavone raced in the 3000m and finished 15th in 10:13.81.
Next up for the Owls is the ECAC Championships, set for March 7-9 at Boston University.
