BOSTON - Senior Will Kellar ran a personal-best time of 4:08.50 in the mile prelims at the IC4A Championships to advance to Sunday's final in the event. Kellar was the only male competing for Temple on the second day of the three-day championships, but teammates Alex Izewski and Matt Kacyon will both race in the 3000m on Sunday.
Kellar's time was the 10th-fastest overall in the mile prelims, and the fourth-fastest in his heat. The top two in each of four heats advanced automatically, along with the next two fastest times, both of which came from Kellar's heat. He was just eight seconds off the school record set by three-time All-American Travis Mahoney.
