Kacyon and Kellar's Performances Highlight Second Day of American Championships for Men's Track & Field

TAMPA, Fla. - Junior Matt Kacyon had another strong finish at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, taking fourth in the 5,000-meter run to earn five team points for Temple. Senior Will Kellar also gave the Owls a solid performance, qualifying for Sunday's final in the 800-meter run.
Kacyon's time in the 5,000 was a personal-best, as he finished the race in 14:26.67. On day one of the championships, he earned a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Kellar also finished in a personal best in the 800-meter prelims with a time of 1:50.90. He is one of eight runners to advance to Sunday's final at 12:40 p.m.
Freshman Joseph Ho ran a personal-best time of 15.86 to finish 12th in the 110-meter hurdles, rounding out a group of three Owls who recorded personal bests for the day.
Competition will conclude on Sunday, with Temple events set to include the 4x100m relay, the 4x400m relay, the triple jump and the discus.
