Duke, Kansas Highlight Men’s Basketball 2014-15 Non-Conference Schedule

PHILADELPHIA (07/25/14) – Perennial national powers Duke and Kansas highlight a tough 2014-15 Temple University men's basketball non-conference schedule released today.
"This is a tremendous schedule full of high-caliber opponents," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. "We are looking forward to the challenges this season presents."
The Owls will host the Jayhawks at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday, December 22 and will travel to Barclays Center to take on the Blue Devils on Friday, November 21 as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. Temple will also play either Stanford or UNLV at the Barclays Center to conclude the prestigious tournament.
The home portion of the non-conference schedule opens with 2014 NCAA Tournament participant American University (Nov. 14) with a date against 2014 NIT quarterfinalist Louisiana Tech (Nov. 17) three days later.
Philadelphia Big 5 rival Penn travels to the Liacouras Center on Nov. 25 while LIU Brooklyn (Nov. 30) closes out the month. Besides Kansas, the Owls will host Towson (Dec. 10) and Delaware State (Dec. 28 or 29) at the Liacouras Center in December.
The road portion of the non-conference slate includes Big 5 dates at Saint Joseph's (Dec. 3) and Villanova (Dec. 14) and a short trip down I-95 to take on Delaware (Dec. 18).
Temple and La Salle will again play their Big 5 game at The Palestra with this year's contest being held on December 6.
The American Athletic Conference dates are expected to be announced in August.
