1.5.15 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Temple junior forward Jaylen Bond has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Men's Basketball Player of the Week after strong performances in a 2-0 week for the Owls. Bond is the second player in a row to receive honor, after teammate Jesse Morgan did so a week ago. Temple swept the Big 5 awards this week, with Erica Covile being named the Big 5 Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Bond averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game in wins against UConn and UCF. After notching seven points and six boards in an overtime win at UConn, the defending national champion, Bond followed up with a career-best 21 points and game-high 14 rebounds as the Owls handled UCF.

For his efforts, Bond was also named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
