Iowa State Tops Women's Gymnastics to End the Regular Season

Ames, Iowa – Temple women's gymnastics was topped by Iowa State on Friday night at Hilton Coliseum in its last meet of the regular season. The Cyclones won the dual meet with a team score of 195.3 while the Owls accumulated a team score of 189.75.
The first event of the meet for Temple was bars. Victoria Reggiani had the top score for the Owls with a 9.6 and led the squad to a team score of 45.75 on the event.
Five Temple gymnasts scored at least a 9.55 on vault, and the Owls earned a team score of 48 on the event. Lauren Capone and Jasmine Johnson tied for the top score with a 9.65. Alexis Arena got a 9.6, and Briana Odom and Stephanie Verry both received a 9.55.
The Owl's best event came on floor where they got a 48.275. Five gymnasts earned at least a 9.6. Capone led the way for Temple with a 9.725. Verry was right behind her with a 9.675. Johnson garnered a 9.65, and Kerry Arone finished with a 9.625. Alexandra Forcucci rounded out the scoring with a 9.6.
Temple finished the meet on beam with an event score of 47.725. Arena led the way with a 9.7. Odom finished right behind her with a 9.675. Gina Tucker's routine earned a score of a 9.575, and Arone received a 9.525.
The Owls will conclude their season with the ECAC Championships next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Yale will host the conference championship.
