PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's basketball team has been awarded the fourth-seed in the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championship and will play fifth-seed Memphis in the quarterfinal round Friday, March 13 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. (2:00 pm (approx.)/ESPN2/1210 AM WPHT).

The Owls (22-9, 13-5 American) tied for third in the regular season standings with Cincinnati (22-9. 13-5), but the Bearcats own the tie-breaker by virtue of its wins against SMU and Tulsa. The Tigers (18-13, 10-8) tied UConn (17-13, 10-8), but own the tie-breaker over the Huskies.

"We are looking forward to the challenge of playing a very talented Memphis team to open the American Athletic Conference Championship," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. "Our only meeting against Memphis was a great game at their place and a key win for our program. This should be a great quarterfinal matchup."
