Men's Cross Country Places Three in the Top 25 at the Main Line Invite

HAVERFORD, Pa. - In a field of 150, three Temple men's cross country runners placed in the top 30 at the Main Line Invite on Friday evening. Senior Alex Izewski was the Owls' top finisher, placing 11th and completing the four-mile course in 19:57.

Senior Matt Kacyon placed 17th in 20:07, and junior Stephan Listabarth finished in 25th place with a time of 20:24.

Also finishing in the top 50 for Temple were seniors Owen Glatts (43rd, 20:53) and Will Maltin (50th, 21:07). As a team, the Owls placed fifth among the seven teams competing, with the order of finish being Penn, La Salle, Haverford, Villanova, Temple, Widener and Swarthmore.

"The race was out quick and our guys put themselves in solid positions early on," said coach James Snyder. "This is the fastest we've run all fall and in some ways simulates the type of race we'll be in two weeks from now at Lehigh. We wanted to get out over our heads a bit and compete near the front. The second group (Glatts, Maltin and Johnathan Condly) worked together well and we'll need them and a few others to step up to close that gap between our 1-3 and 4-7 runners."

Temple will take next weekend off from competing, and will return to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Oct. 2.
