Quinton Rose Named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week

11.14.16 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman guard Quinton Rose was named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 13.  Rose becomes just the second Owl to earn the honor from the conference. He joins teammate Obi Enechionyia, who garnered the accolade during his freshman season (2/2/15).

Rose, a native of Rochester, N.Y. (Bishop Kearney), had an impressive debut for the Cherry and White in the team's 97-92 overtime win over La Salle Friday.  The 6-8 guard tallied 12 points on five-of-eight shooting, grabbed three rebounds and blocked two shots in 26 minutes of play off the bench.

Enechionyia, a 6-10 junior forward, was named to the conference's weekly honor roll for his 20-point, career-high 14-rebound and four-block outing against the Explorers.

Temple next plays tonight (Nov. 14) against New Hampshire (7 pm/ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT) at the Liacouras Center in the preseason NIT.
